GSP Floating Shooting Line is a shooting/running line that is unparalleled in the market. Utilizing a gel-spun polyethylene core, which is the most advanced core material on the market, this shooting line achieves a true “no-stretch” characteristic. The ultra-low diameter of this core combines with superior strength to offer a shooting line that is the strongest, most durable, and most sensitive shooting line you will ever use. The polyethylene coating is formulated for extremely low memory, high float, and minimal “water pick-up” to greatly reduce guide-icing, friction, and to keep you dryer while casting.

Strength and Stretch

The core found in the GSP Floating Shooting Lines has a breaking strength of 65 pounds. The complete lack of stretch in these shooting lines, compounded with the strongest core available, translates the most subtle of takes back to the hand of the angler to virtually eliminate the chances of missing fish. This line is a favorite of Spey fishermen.

Factory-welded loops are additionally reinforced to the point where the loop weld will actually outperform the core strength. This unmatched strength is critical at these high-stress locations. For the ease of changing out shooting heads, the forward loop is over-sized to accommodate large spools.

Float

GSP Floating Shooting Lines are made with a Gel-spun polyethylene core and a specific blend of polyethylene polymers to create the coating. All of these materials begin lighter than water (Specific Gravity < 1.0). The buoyancy of this shooting line, combined with its natural tendency to repel water allows for long, effortless mends and easier pick ups so that you can keep the fly where you want it.

Durability

The polyethylene coating of Impact fly lines does not contain the volatile chemicals that must be added to PVC in order to create a fly line. This shift in technology is important to maintain the durability of the line. Previously, these chemicals would constantly migrate into the environment. This is why we steer away from PVC baby toys and food containers—they emit poison. As those chemicals migrate out of the plastic, a void is created in the compound. Not only does this alter the compound from its initial characteristics, but that void forces the compound to crack over time. This is where the circumferential cracks on a PVC fly line are born. Add dirt, oil, and other foreign debris to the cracks and performance degrades. Monic lines do not lose material over time, and therefore do not crack. This is important in the overall durability of the line and its performance longevity for the angler.

  • Fortis Sunglasses: Finseeker
    SKU: NFD9345

    The Pinnacle of Sunglass Design
Introducing the Finseekers, the culmination of years of research, samples and development have gone into forming the ultimate colour combinations. Designed to maximise clarity, enhance colours, increase contrast, illuminate dull tones and adapt to changing conditions. Available in both polymer (FS001, FS002, FS003) and glass lens options (FSG003).

All variations incorporate an anti-reflective coating on the inner side of the lens. The first of Fortis models to incorporate this feature designed to stop reflection from the users own face.

Moving onto the frames, the lightweight yet strong TR90 Nylon will withstand the toughest conditions.

The frame design boasts a myriad of features with vents for increased air flow to minimise internal fogging, sweat chambers to wick away moisture, rubber nose pad and tips on the arms provide maximum comfort. To top this all off, the sprung loaded hinges allow for over extension of the arms to not only protect against excessive stress but to also cater for all head shapes and sizes.

The Finseekers come with a microfibre cleaning cloth, durable hard case and dedicated quick release lanyard that can be permanently fixed to the frames

FS003 – Green with Blue XBlok
A lens designed to mimic nature and provide a true representation of natural colour. This lens is the most comfortable and reduces eye fatigue. A favourite amongst sea and big water anglers where constant bright light comes from every angle. Weight: 30g VLT = 10%

    FSG003 – Amber AMPM Silver XBlok SWITCH™
Our first glass lens into the Fortis range. Relentless development and no expense spared has formed the pinnacle of lens technology. Glass offers a multitude of advantages including clarity, scratch resistance and polarisation.
These Italian glass lenses incorporate our SWITCH™ technology. Our Switch or photochromic technology means that the lenses ‘switch’ in colour / shade when exposed to UV light. In bright light the lenses darken, in low light the lenses lighten. This allows the user perfect vision through the course of a session, whether that be at low light at dawn, stalking in the midday sun or looking for subtle signs of fish at dusk.
