Weight Forward – Floating Line
The Saltwater Master is the perfect all-around floating line every saltwater angler should have in their arsenal. We designed this line from start to finish to withstand the harsh saltwater environment and to have the versatility to target nearly any species you’d find in the salt. Whether you are sight casting to stripers off the cape, stalking the elusive permit, or bowing to the silver king, the Saltwater Master is the perfect tool for you. With just a hint of sky blue color, this line is very stealthy and unobtrusive on the water. Giving the angler the advantages of the clear but with slightly more visibility for tracking your line on the water.
Taper
The Saltwater Master has a head design that is specialized to target nearly any saltwater species. The short powerful front taper allows the angler to effectively turn over large/heavy flies or extra long leaders with ease. The extended rear taper and longer head provide superb control and stability while carrying line which makes for long and accurate shots, even in windy conditions.
Core
The Saltwater Master uses our semi-stiff low-stretch saltwater core. The minimal stretch allows for excellent sensitivity and powerful hook-sets while still allowing to anneal/straighten the line easily with a simple hand stretch. This added stiffness will also help retain the character of the line in extreme heat.
Coating
The Saltwater Master uses our advanced STS coating system. With its game changing slickness formula uniformly built into the coating, the slick properties will never wear off, maintaining that superb line shooting ability. STS also reduces salt build-up, extending maximum performance in between cleanings. With just a hint of light sky blue color added to our clear coat, this line is very stealthy and unobtrusive on the water. Giving the angler all the advantages of a stealthy natural color line but with slightly more visibility for tracking your line on the water.
Line Weights
All Saltwater Masters are weighted a half size above the AFFTA standards. You can see the weight ranges in the chart pictured here (weights are measured from the first 30 ft of the head). All of our lines manufactured here at Monic are constructed at or just above the AFFTA standards. Many fly lines in today’s market are vastly over-weighted, sometimes up to 3 sizes. At Monic, we understand that not every angler is using a fast action rod or wants an ultra-heavy fly line forced into their hands. That is why we want to leave the decision up to you. After all, nobody knows your rod and fishing style better than you do.

The Oros tech pack includes three strike indicator colors glow-in-the-dark, black/anti-glare and hi-visibility chartreuse.
Black/Anti-glare
Black strike indicators provide more contrast and are easier to see than other colors in highly reflective lighting situations. We’ve found that black indicators work well when the sun is lower on the horizon or under overcast skies that are reflecting on the water. For situations where the indicator is moving from water with a dark refection into an area with high glare we recommend putting two indicators on the line, one black and one chartreuse or white. The white or chartreuse indicator is easy to see in the dark area and the black indicator is easier to see in the high glare area. For example, we pared a medium black indicator with a small chartreuse indicatorEasy to use!
To fasten:
1. Unscrew top
2. Place line in screw slot
3. Screw on top until the screw and nut grips the line
4. Unscrew ¼ turn to adjust up or down
5. Don’t over-tighten.Features and details:
