The Henley series provides anglers with the ultimate weapon for the clearest waters and the spookiest fish on the planet. Using the same technology as our Henley Clear line, but now with a slow sink rate of 1-2 in/s, for when you need to get your fly slightly deeper. The head has been designed with density compensation, meaning as you move up the front taper and into the belly, the line becomes gradually less dense. This puts the very tip of your fly line the deepest in the water column, improving strike detection, and keeping the belly portion out of the fishing zone.
Taper
Monic’s Traditional weight-forward taper is perfect for the all-around angler, whether its big game fishing down in the tropics to small mountain trout streams. With its symmetrical front and rear tapers along with the moderate length belly, this head design will allow you to perform almost any presentation without needing multiple line set-ups. The shorter front and rear tapers allow you to shoot line and turn over large streamers or indicator rigs, while the evenly loaded, level belly section gives the angler control over the aggressiveness of their presentation for when delicate top-water offerings are key.
Core
The Henley Clear series utilizes our exclusive MoniCORE. This is a brand new proprietary monofilament we have been developing for over a year. This non-nylon based mono has superb clarity and is naturally more relaxed than any monofilament core we have ever worked with to date. This creates an exceptionally clear and stealthy line that holds far less coil than fly lines based on traditional nylon monofilament. Our MoniCORE has moderate stretch, allowing the angler to easily relax or straighten the fly line while also providing shock absorbing properties and consistent tension for landing those extra large species. MonicCORE’s versatility allows you to take the stealthy covert nature of the Henley Clear from the flats in the tropics to the chilly mountain creeks and rivers.
Coating
Our Henley Clear series coating provides the angler with the ultimate stealth presentation fly line. Most fish species, due to how their bodies are constructed as well as their feeding patterns, generally focus their eyes forward and up toward the surface of the water. This is why many fish can spook or become hesitant to feed if they can see thick bright fly lines casting overhead or in the water. With the Henley Clear series this problem is minimized. Its extremely smooth, texture-free surface produces very little friction between the line and rod guides allowing you to shoot line with ease whether its cold or warm. The toughness of the Henley Clear coating produces a more durable, longer lasting fly line compared to most conventional PVC constructed fly lines. Its high abrasion resistance helps these lines hold up in some of the most brutal fishing conditions where rough coral, sharp rocks, and heavy surf can break down other lines in just a few outings. This allows the Henley Clears to be taken from freshwater to the grueling salt without having to worry about cracks, dry rot, and delamination.
Line Weights
All Henley Clears are weighted a half size above the AFFTA standards. You can see the weight ranges in the chart pictured here (weights are measured from the first 30 ft of the head). All of our lines manufactured here at Monic are constructed at or just above the AFFTA standards. Many fly lines in today’s market are vastly over-weighted, sometimes up to 3 sizes. At Monic, we understand that not every angler is using a fast action rod or wants an ultra-heavy fly line forced into their hands.

Oros Strike Indicator 3 Tech Pack
SKU: NFD9214-3smalltech
SKU: NFD9214-3mediumtechTECH PACK!
The Oros tech pack includes three strike indicator colors glow-in-the-dark, black/anti-glare and hi-visibility chartreuse.
Black/Anti-glare
Black strike indicators provide more contrast and are easier to see than other colors in highly reflective lighting situations. We’ve found that black indicators work well when the sun is lower on the horizon or under overcast skies that are reflecting on the water. For situations where the indicator is moving from water with a dark refection into an area with high glare we recommend putting two indicators on the line, one black and one chartreuse or white. The white or chartreuse indicator is easy to see in the dark area and the black indicator is easier to see in the high glare area. For example, we pared a medium black indicator with a small chartreuse indicatorEasy to use!

MICROSPEY AIR 2 — 10’9” 2WT.
The 2wt is our shortest model that is a sweet Scandi caster yet is more than capable of launching heavier Skagit heads and sinking tips. This this is a perfect small-river rod, or a bigger river stick when skating caddis, or presenting soft hackles. We like a 210 grain Skagit or a 180 grain Scandi. Add 8-10’ sinking or poly leaders that ring in the 80-grain range.MICROSPEY AIR 2 — 11’ 3WT.
The do-it-all member of the family. From flashy sculpins on the Missouri, to swinging tandem soft hackles of the West Branch of the Delaware, this 3wt is up for the task. Capable of both long and short casts, it also pairs well as a great indicator rod for stillwater applications. Line it with a 240 grain Skagit, or a 210 grain Scandi with 10’ of T-10 for sink tips.MICROSPEY AIR 2 — 11’3” 4WT.
Built with extra-power for bigger casts and flies, the 11’3” 4wt is the perfect choice for big water fishing. This powerful rod is ready for aggressive Skagit heads yet will handle longer lines utilizing touch-and-go techniques for ultra- smooth performance. A 300 grain Skagit or 275 Scandi, paired with 10’-12’ tips, are a sweet match for this amazing rod. -
