Zen Tenkara is the ONLY company that offers an interchangable tip section for all our rods (excluding the Kyojin Tenkara Spey Fly Rod) that allows anglers to customize the feel and action of their tenkara rod. Change out the Standard Tip for the Performance Tip for a faster action tip. You’ll notice the different immediately with super quick hook-sets, ease when using heavier set-ups or castng into the wind, and a punch when throwing longer lines. The Performance Tip works great for Czech and Euro Nymphing too. All Zen Tenkara Fly Rods (excluding the Kyojin Tenkara Spey Fly Rod) have interchangable tips, so the Performance Tip fits the Zako, Suzume, Suimenka, Sagi and Taka Tenkara Rods. Grip fly reels are designed for those that desire a fully sealed drag system for the most extreme conditions. They have the same heavy duty, clean cut construction that Torque and Rush series reels have become known for, only with a few sweet additions.
To start, 2 Hybrid ceramic ball bearings and even more carbon fiber have been incorporated, adding to the silky smooth drag that all Galvan users are accustomed to. A watertight, easy to access hub has also been added encasing the entire drag system, leaving only anodized aluminum exposed to the elements. The new quick turn knob allows for a super quick spool release as well as easy access to the Drag System, and the Monster grip handle provides assured accessibility.

Based in California, USA Galvan design and produce all their reels in America!With the sport of European Style Nymphing becoming more popular; the demand for a high performance, high quality, flyfishing reel has been met by Galvan’s New G.E.N reel. The key feature of this reel are it’s extreme large arbor and closed frame design. The extreme large arbor design, for those not familiar with the sport, accommodates the much smaller in diameter Euro Nymph lines. The closed frame design creates a no slip through gap between the spool and frame also accommodating to the slimmer line profile of the sport. An added feature of the closed frame is that it also fits the Torque and Rush spools. A 3 pawl drag engagement is also incorporated to provide ultimate drag strength and rotation.
