Umpqua Fly CDC Cased Caddis Jig Dorseyf
SKU: NFD9880
Size 14 and 16
“The CDC Cased Caddis Jig is a twist on the popular cased caddis that imitates Brachycentrus caddis larvae, which are easily identified by their brown, rectangular, tapered cases.
I typically fish this pattern on larger tailwaters with heavier nymphing rigs but it fishes well on freestones too.
Don’t sleep on this pattern as a dropper in a dry-dropper application as I’ve found it to be very successful in high elevation creeks searching for native Brook trout.
The CDC Cased Jig is about as buggy as it gets. I might be a sucker for anything tied with CDC, but so are the fish!”

Umpqua Fly Goddard Caddis
SKU: NFD9841
Sizes 12,14,16 and 18
The Goddard Caddis is already a confidence pattern for many anglers and fools trout on a regular basis. The origins of this fly date back to the 60’s where John Goddard and Clive Henry developed this pattern for Stillwater fishing. Inspired by sedge patterns from the English lochs the Goddard was truly unique and floats extremely well.

Umpqua Fly Hda Fav Variant (Jigged)
SKU: NFD9882
Size 12 and 14
“This nymph is an awesome searching pattern. When I’m fishing new water and am not sure what exactly the fish want I will go to this pattern.
With the pearl tinsel back, soft hackle collar and hotspot, this fly has presence in the water. However, this pattern works well as an emerger, with lots of movement created from the soft hackle collar.
I typically fish this on a dead drift, but definitely allow this fly to swing out to finish the drift. Depending on the size it works well during your drake hatch down to your beatis.
Since it is tied on a competition jig hook, I do fish this primarily on a euro–rig, but I have suspended this fly off indicators for clients, and dropped it off of a dry fly.”

Umpqua Fly Outrigger Caddis
SKU: NFD9851
Size 14 and 16
Colour: Tan
“The Outrigger series was the result of frustration with high floating caddis dries and dries that were too delicate for more than a few fish. I wanted a dry fly that was plenty buoyant, but sat low in the water like the naturals and was still visible for clients. I also wanted it durable enough to withstand more than a few fish, but still have that great segmentation that quills and biots give. With this in mind I developed the Outrigger Caddis. The originals were great in the glassy water but sunk in the rougher water. For additional floatation I added a foam underbody, a slightly bulkier wing, and thicker hackle up front. For added visibility, I pulled a doubled up piece of white packing foam over the head which also aids in floatation. In order to achieve a realistic profile from the fish’s perspective I used Ice Stretch Lace on the abdomen, which gives excellent segmentation, and an under wing that gives an extremely realistic profile of an adult caddis’s wings. The result is a realistic fly that sits low in the water, but is still highly visible, and produces fish in both glassy water and in the pockets.” The productivity of the Outrigger Caddis led me to create the Outrigger Little Yellow Sally. It has all the qualities of the Outrigger Caddis with the bright red egg sack of the females for added realism. The productivity of both the caddis and the sally has made the Outriggers two of my go to patterns in any situation.” ~ Fly and words by Dave Sloan
