Diamondback’s Aeroflex Freshwater reels are heavily ported five-axis machined reels with smart design features for optimal performance on the water. The wide, oversized drag knob with a raised surface can be easily gripped and turned without looking, helping you focus on the fish when the fight requires you to quickly release or apply additional drag pressure. The Diamondback Ideal Nymph reel is a complex five-axis machined reel with a 40-gram adjustable weight system designed to optimize the performance that tactical nymph anglers require from a fly reel. Ideal Nymph reel designs reflect years of experience fishing nymph techniques and dealing with the problems and challenges that fishing long European style leaders can present. Every aspect of how an angler interacts with a nymphing reel has been carefully considered during the design of Ideal Nymph reels, with top competitive anglers providing their insight and suggestions.
A five-axis CNC machined, closed frame provides an ultra-smooth rounded surface to protect ultra-thin fly lines and micro leaders when line is pulled off the reel at any speed from any angle!
Large diameter spool spins easily with one quick turn — allowing several feet of line to be picked up very quickly — particularly with the larger 3/4 model designed to put fish on the reel with one quick spin of the spool in most nymphing circumstances.
An extra narrow gap and diameter tolerance between the frame and spool which minimizes the potential for line getting caught between those surfaces at any time.

The key feature of this reel are it’s extreme large arbor and closed frame design. The extreme large arbor design, for those not familiar with the sport, accommodates the much smaller in diameter Euro Nymph lines. The closed frame design creates a no slip through gap between the spool and frame also accommodating to the slimmer line profile of the sport. Galvan G.E.N Weight Kit

The G.E.N Weight Kit is a 1/2 ounce brass washer that fits into the spool of the G.E.N reels, allowing the angler to increase the weight of the reel by a 1/2 ounce. A rubber gasket is recessed into a groove in the washer’s hole ensuring a snug fit on the spindle. A threaded hole in the weight allows for easy removal of the weight from a reel using the included weight removal tool. (See instructions here) G.E.N Weight Kits come with one 1/2 ounce weight and includes the weight removal tool.

The Rush Light’s quality, ruggedness and ultra-smooth, state of the art, Torque drag system does not disappoint. This high value, mid-priced, large arbor reel has all the technological hallmarks of its counterpart the Torque, while capturing the essence of the original Rush Series reels.
Originally created in 2005, the Rush Series reels quickly garnered a following among discerning anglers. We listened to these anglers and in 2012 we reduced the reel’s weight and modified the look, giving it some of the features of our revered OB reel. We altered the porting pattern on the spool face and opened up the back of the frame to our recognized, open back, tri-spoke design.
These changes reduced the weight, sharpened the appearance and maintained the ruggedness the original Rush Series reels were valued for.
